How much does an electric scooter cost? UK price guide

It is the first question most people ask, and the honest answer is that it depends on what you want the scooter to do. A Pure Electric scooter ranges from £399 to £899, with the price reflecting real differences in motor power, range, suspension and build quality. This guide explains what sits behind those numbers, so you can match your budget to the ride you actually want.

The short answer

Across the Pure Electric range, you can expect to pay:

  • Around £399 for an entry point into dual suspension riding
  • Between £449 and £549 for more power, longer range or a forward-facing stance
  • Between £599 and £649 for our highest performance and longest range
  • £899 for our flagship and design-led models

If you are happy with a refurbished or reboxed model, our Outlet starts from less, with prices from around £229 and a warranty included.

What you are actually paying for

E-scooter pricing is not arbitrary. As the price rises, so does what the scooter can do for you.

Motor power is the clearest example. A 924W motor handles everyday riding and gentle hills with ease, while our most powerful 1900W motor delivers genuine torque for steeper climbs and quicker acceleration. Range is the next factor. Our entry models cover up to 45km on a charge, while our longest-range scooters reach up to 90km, which means fewer charges and more time riding.

Then there is comfort and control. Dual GlideMotion™ suspension, larger tyres, a steel frame or our forward-facing Ultimate Riding Stance all add to the cost, because they add to the engineering. Every Pure Electric scooter is designed in the UK to the same standards of safety and reliability, so even at the entry point you are getting a properly engineered ride, not a compromise.

The price tiers explained

Entry: from £399

This is where dual suspension riding begins. The Air⁶ Suspension at £399 pairs a 924W motor with up to 45km of range and dual GlideMotion suspension, so small bumps simply disappear beneath you. It is a properly engineered, dependable ride, and the ideal place to start if you want real quality without paying for performance you will not use.

Mid range: £449 to £549

Step up and you gain power, range and refinement. The Air⁶ Pro+ Suspension at £449 lifts output to 1200W and range to 75km. The Escape at £499 brings a rugged steel frame and our forward-facing Ultimate Riding Stance for a planted, stable ride, and the Escape Pro+ Suspension, also £499, adds suspension comfort to that stability. At £549, the Air⁶ Ultra Suspension stretches range to a full 90km. This is the tier for riders who go further and want more in reserve.

Higher performance: £599 to £649

For our most capable rides, the Escape Ultra Max at £599 delivers rugged power with supreme comfort, while the Air⁶ Ultra Max at £649 combines our most powerful 1900W motor with up to 90km of range. You feel the difference the moment you press the throttle: instant, confident acceleration and effortless hill climbing.

Flagship and design-led: £899

At the top of the range, the Flex folds down to a remarkably compact footprint, while the Pure x McLaren editions bring racing-inspired design and the pinnacle of our engineering. These are for riders who want something exceptional and are not compromising on anything.

Spreading the cost with 0% APR finance

You do not have to pay for your scooter all at once. Pure Electric offers interest-free finance at checkout through Klarna, so you can spread the cost with 0% APR and no hidden fees.

That entry-level £399 scooter works out from £33.25 a month over 12 months, and even our £899 flagship comes in from £74.91 a month. You can split payments over 3, 6 or 12 months, with an instant eligibility decision in seconds. Finance is available to those aged 18 and over, subject to status, and you can read the full details on our finance page.

Looking for the best value? Try the Outlet

If your priority is getting the most scooter for your money, the Pure Electric Outlet is the place to look. Here you will find refurbished and reboxed models, with prices starting from around £229.

Reboxed scooters are as new and simply repackaged. Refurbished models are fully inspected and restored by our own UK technicians using genuine parts, then graded A, B or C so you know exactly what to expect, from barely-used Grade A to honestly described Grade C. Every model in the Outlet comes with a warranty, so an accessible price never means a compromise on confidence. Stock is limited and changes regularly, so it is worth checking back.

So, how much should you spend?

The right price is the one that matches how you ride. If you want a dependable, comfortable scooter for everyday use, the £399 entry point gives you genuine quality. If you ride further, tackle hills, or want the longest range and most power, the £449 to £649 models are built for it. If you want the very best of our design and engineering, the £899 flagship range delivers.

Whichever you choose, finance makes it manageable and the Outlet makes it affordable. And if you are still weighing up which model suits you, our Air vs Escape guide is a good next step, or you can browse the full range of electric scooters.

One last note: privately owned e-scooters can currently only be ridden on private land with the landowner's permission. Prices in this guide are correct at the time of writing.
