Steering Stabilisation ×

Steering Stabilisation

Steering stabilisation is a crucial feature in modern e-scooters, designed to enhance rider safety and comfort. It works by providing resistance against sudden or unintended handlebar movements, ensuring a smoother and more controlled ride. This system uses a combination of mechanical and electronic components to detect and counteract abrupt steering inputs, which helps in maintaining stability and preventing wobbles or potential accidents.

The technology behind steering stabilisation involves sensors that continuously monitor the scooter's motion and handlebar position. When an unexpected movement is detected, the stabilisation mechanism automatically adjusts to counterbalance the motion. This is particularly beneficial at higher speeds or on uneven terrains, where maintaining control can be challenging.

Overall, steering stabilisation significantly improves the riding experience by offering better handling, reducing fatigue, and increasing confidence for the rider.

Key features:

GlideMotion Suspension Take the rough with the smooth

GlideMotion suspension

Our new, dual suspension system combines a front telescopic fork with adjustable rear twin shock absorbers for unrivalled riding comfort and control with
low-maintenance reliability.

Rear twin shock absorbers

The rear shock absorbers dampen vibration to ease travel over rough ground. An adjustable preload allows you to tune the suspension performance for your weight and riding conditions.

Front telescopic forks

Progressive action cushions the ride over small bumps, increasing the resistance to soften larger impacts.

Powerful, long-range adventures

Our leading, cutting-edge battery technology delivers up to 62km one-charge range, and can be fully recharged in 6 hours.

The smart battery management system delivers precise monitoring for peace of mind every time you ride and charge.

710W max. power delivers strong hill climbing with responsive acceleration to reach a maximum speed of 25km/h.

10" enhanced grip tyres

After testing 15 competitor tyres, our engineers developed their own design to optimise comfort and grip and deliver the smoothest, most comfortable e-ride.

Our large, high-quality tubeless 10" tyres have a woven puncture-protection layer to increase reliability and remove the need for inner tubes. New, enhanced grip traction is optimised for comfortable and reliable riding on flat or rough ground. Giving you confidence and comfort, wherever you travel.

Dual braking system

Efficient, low-maintenance brakes control stopping power for a safer riding experience.

The front drum brake performs better and requires less maintenance than standard disc brakes, and the rear e-brake recharges the battery when being used.

Maximum visibility

A bright 150 lumens headlight helps you navigate confidently in all conditions, and the always-on rear light becomes 5x brighter when braking to help signal your every move.

Class-leading IP65 water resistance

Designed to handle rainy-day rides. Unlike others, Pure Air5 e-scooters are IP65 rated. So you can ride with confidence, whatever the weather.

Heads up: Your packaging might show older range or power figures. The scooter hasn't changed — we've just updated how we measure performance.

1 Max. one-charge range: Tested at Evesham VeloPark in the UK, summer 2025 we achieved a range of 62km. Tested under these conditions: Ambient temperature of 26°C +/-6°C ridden on a flat, level asphalt surface, on a closed loop circuit. Wind conditions <7m/s, ridden at a constant speed of 15km/h maintained with cruise control, total rider weight 75kg (+/-5kg). The tyres were inflated to the maximum pressure stated on the tyre. The scooter was set to ECO mode and the headlight turned off.

2 Max. power: The max motor power is determined by multiplying the full state of charge battery voltage of 42V by the maximum motor input current of 20A. 924W

Heads up: Your scooter's packaging might list previous range or motor power figures. Don't worry — the scooter you've received is exactly the same. We've simply updated how we measure performance to better reflect real-world riding.

The range that you can achieve on your scooter is dependent on a number of factors: Speed, rider weight & height, tyre pressure, terrain / hills, frequency of stops / starts, ambient temperature & wind speed.

Most scooter manufacturers report maximum range based on tests with optimal conditions at a speed of 15km/h. We have re-tested our scooters at the same speed with similar conditions to provide you with a like-for-like comparison.

Model Previous Range Claim (km) Actual Range Achieved (km) Actual Range Achieved (mi) Nominal Power (W) Updated Max. Power (W)

Test Conditions: Tested at Evesham VeloPark in the UK, summer 2025 under these conditions: Ambient temperature of 26°C +/-6°C ridden on a flat, level asphalt surface, on a closed loop circuit. Wind conditions <7m/s, ridden at a constant speed of 15km/h maintained with cruise control, total rider weight 75kg (+/-5kg). The tyres were inflated to the maximum pressure stated on the tyre. The scooter was set to ECO mode and the headlight turned off.

Previously we tested at 20km/h, 10°C temperatures, a rider weight of 64kg, on flat level ground, asphalt surface with no wind.

The scooter range may drop if it experiences any of the following conditions, individually or in combination: High speeds, tall or heavy rider, low tyre pressure, steep terrain / hills, high frequency of stops / starts, cold temperature & strong wind.

The max motor power is determined by multiplying the full state of charge battery voltage by the maximum motor input current.

Optimise your Range

Unlock the full potential of your e-scooter with these expert tips on maximising performance, understanding factors that affect your ride, and best practices for a smooth, efficient journey:

Check and inflate your tyres regularly

Keep tyres inflated to the optimum pressure of 36 PSI / 2.5 Bar. Proper inflation improves efficiency and maximises range, but never exceed the maximum pressure marked on the tyre. If you get a puncture or notice excessive tread wear, stop riding and contact your local Pure Electric help desk.

Rider weight and luggage

Your scooter is designed for a single rider with a maximum load of 120kg, including your body weight and any bags or other items. Reducing the load will improve range and performance.

Speed, terrain and hills

For maximum range, ride smoothly and plan routes to avoid hills and choose flatter, less congested routes when possible. Avoid hard acceleration and high speeds, and anticipate stops to maintain momentum.

Temperature and storage

Your battery works best in warm conditions. On cold days, fully charge the scooter at room temperature before riding to improve range. If unused for long periods, keep the battery charged between 50–80%, and recharge monthly to prolong its life. Avoid using the scooter in temperatures below 0°C or above 40°C.

Battery care

Use only the original charger, or a genuine replacement from Pure Electric. When the charger light turns from red to green, charging is complete. To extend battery life, avoid letting it drop below 20%, and don't leave it plugged in after it's fully charged.
