Pure Advance electric scooters

The Advance and Flex use a forward-facing stance: feet at shoulder width, centre of gravity low, and a steadier feel under acceleration and braking. Both weigh 16.2kg, reach 25km/h and are built around a motor with 924W maximum output. Find out why we designed them this way in Why forward-facing or our Advance guide.

Frequently asked questions

What is a forward-facing stance?

You stand facing the direction of travel with your feet at shoulder width, rather than side-on with one foot behind the other. That lowers your centre of gravity and gives you a natural, balanced position, so the scooter feels steadier when you accelerate and brake. Our page on why forward-facing explains the thinking behind it.

What is the difference between the Advance and the Flex?

They share the same forward-facing stance, 924W maximum motor output, 25km/h top speed and 16.2kg weight. The Advance reaches up to 57.5km on a single charge, while the Flex reaches up to 52km and folds to 57cm x 30cm x 62cm.

How far can they go on a single charge?

The Advance covers up to 57.5km (35.7 miles) and the Flex up to 52km (32.3 miles). A full charge takes around 6 hours on the Advance and 5 hours 45 minutes on the Flex. Rider weight, terrain, hills and weather all affect real world range.

How much power do they have?

Both use a motor rated at 500W nominal with 924W maximum output. That is enough to handle gradients of up to 19%, with a top speed of 25km/h.

Do they fold, and how portable are they?

Yes. The Advance folds at the handlebars, stem and footpads, and the Flex folds to 57cm x 30cm x 62cm. At 16.2kg, both are light enough to lift into a car boot or carry onto a train.

Are they water resistant?

Yes. Both are IP65 rated, so they are protected against dust and water jets. Rain and puddles are fine. Both ride on 10 inch tubeless tyres.

What braking and steering features do they have?

Both have a front drum brake and a rear KERS regenerative brake, which recovers energy as you slow down. Pure Control™ Steering Stabilisation helps keep the steering steady by reducing side-to-side movement.

Can I ride a Pure scooter on public roads in the UK?

No. It is currently only legal to use an e-scooter on private land with the permission of the landowner. It is illegal to ride an e-scooter on a public road, cycle path, bridleway or pavement.
