As a precautionary measure, we have withdrawn the MicroGo M8 from sale and are recalling all MicroGo M8s bought from Pure Electric from summer 2021 onwards. Your safety is our greatest concern, and we sincerely apologise for the disappointment and inconvenience that this will cause.

WHAT IS THE CAUSE?

We have been made aware of an instance where excess moisture has got inside the product, which creates the potential to cause a safety issue while it is being charged. We take our rider’s safety very seriously, leading us to make the decision to recall the product.

WHAT SHOULD I DO NEXT?

STOP using the product immediately. This includes both charging and riding the product.

You should return the e-scooter and its charger to any Pure Electric store for a full refund. We will also be able to provide an exclusive offer for an alternative product.

  • In extreme circumstances, we have seen evidence that the product’s internal charging circuit could become compromised. This can potentially cause some safety issues which means that this product falls beneath our high minimum quality standards. Our rider’s safety is at the forefront of every decision we make, leading us to make the decision to recall the product.

  • We appreciate that this recall will be a disappointment and inconvenience, but we take our responsibility to your safety incredibly seriously. Therefore, we strongly recommend and ask you to return it to one of our stores.

  • Please store the product indoors in a dry place. Unplug the charger from the wall and the product and store alongside it. Please do not charge the product.

  • Unfortunately we are not able to provide a direct replacement for your product, however we will offer you a full refund or you can put the value of the MicroGo M8 towards a different product in our range, taking advantage of some exclusive offers.

  • You don’t need to return the product yourself, please just take to one of our stores:

  • We have created exclusive offers on some of our best-selling scooters. You’ll be able to put the amount you’ve received as a refund for the MicroGo M8 towards one of these alternative products, making up any difference.

    The Bird Air has an RRP of £449 and you can buy it £275 or alternatively the Okai ES500 RRP’s for £499 and you can buy it for an amazing £225. These offers are only available for customers that have returned a Microgo and have never been priced this low before and won’t be again!

    These offers are available until 12 February 2022.

  • The Okai ES500 can be used by over 14s and the Bird Air is suitable for 16 year olds and above. Unfortunately, the range of e-scooters suitable for children is limited and we do not currently have suitable alternatives available for under 14 year olds. We are very sorry for the disappointment this may cause, however we must prioritise safety in this instance and are offering all customers the option of a full refund should the alternative scooters not suit their needs.

  • Unfortunately, our current available range doesn’t include any e-scooters in the same price range which is why we’ve worked to offer our next most suitable products with a significant discount to any customers affected by this issue. We’re very sorry to not be able to offer a like for like exchange in this circumstance, however in the interests of customer safety we are making the best possible options available, or alternatively a full refund.

We know that many of you will have bought a Microgo M8 for a loved one over the Christmas period, and that this recall will be incredibly disappointing. For this, we are sincerely sorry. We have examined all possible solutions, and with your safety put first, our only option is to recall this product.
