Inokim launches new Quick 4 electric scooter

September 17th 2020

Inokim has lifted the covers on its latest electric scooter – named the Quick 4 – complete with a new 600W-rated motor and up to 58km range from an 832Wh battery.

Featuring the same distinctive folding frame mechanism as the Quick 3, the Quick 4 is designed primarily for urban terrain, but incorporates the ability to tackle some rough surfaces with its integrated front and rear suspension units and tough aluminium frame.

Combined with 10 inch air-filled tyres, the Quick 4 is set up to provide a premium quality, comfortable ride while dealing with broken tarmac and lowered kerbs with ease.

Powerful performance

Although the top speed is limited to 25 km/h (15.5mph), the 600W-rated motor is powerful enough for steeper urban inclines thanks to a claimed 1,100W peak output, while the controlled top speed enables it to cruise on flat terrain, partly contributing to the high potential range.

Safety also appears to have been on Inokim’s engineer’s minds too. The brakes have seen an upgrade over the Quick 3 with two low-maintenance drum brake units installed instead of a mix of v-brake and mechanical disc stoppers, which should see the Quick 4 slow and stop just as powerfully as it accelerates with the new motor.

The handlebars have seen a redesign too, with a new “T-bar” layout that incorporates a central control unit in the top of the stem, displaying clear metrics on speed, battery life and range, plus ride distance, and separate easy-to-reach controls near the rider’s left thumb. Despite the new integrated layout, the steering mechanism can still fold away, allowing the Quick 4 to pack down into a relatively compact 110 x 55 x 25cm.

All in, the Quick 4 weighs a substantial 21.5kg – the trade-off of including suspension units and a typically sturdy frame design – and can support a total load of 100kg, which might surprise some given its muscular looks.

Coming soon

We’re looking forward to seeing the Quick 4 arrive at Pure Electric in the coming weeks, and will update this story when it becomes available.
